Umbra Flip Wood Wall-Mount Rack with 8 Hooks, Espresso
The Flip multi-hook rack by Umbra boasts a clever design: each hook can be flipped up when not in use, slipping neatly into a groove in the rack for a sleek look and space-saving functionality. Constructed of hardwood with brushed nickel-plated hooks, Flip is available in a range of sizes and finishes. This espresso-brown, eight-hook model measures 32 by 3 by 1-inch. Simple mounting hardware is included. Designed by David Quan for Umbra - the worldwide leader in casual, contemporary and affordable design for the home.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Good but not perfect
We've purchased two of these, different sizes for different houses, and have been mostly pleased with them. They look great, the wood is solid, and they can hold a large dinner party's worth of wet winter coats piled on each other.

Cons:
The paint chips very easily. We used a dark brown marker to fix that and it's not noticeable at all.
The mounting holes on the back are 11 1/2" apart. For installation in a modern house with 16" between studs, this is pretty lame. Two holes 16" apart would have been a much better design. That said, one stud-driven screw plus two in the drywall with provided screw plugs holds lots of weight.

Template is off and color rubs off easily
I used the template per the instructions and the measurements for the screws are at least 1/8 inch off for each. My bad for not triple checking, but they could get the template right. Now I have to patch and redrill, get new hardware. What a pain. And, as I was holding the piece against the wall to try to get it to hang a bunch of the dark paint rubbed off on the wall. I imagine this will be chipping much more if I actually use it. If you buy this DO NOT use the template. And you must not care if your light walls get scuffed up.
Nice design, crappy execution
The worst thing about this coat rack is that the holes on the coat rack did not match the template. So, having carefully used the template to drill three holes in the wall, I was unable to hang the coat rack. I then had to measure the holes on the coat rack and make another set of three holes. The distances between the holes are slightly uneven. 1/16" here and there can make a big difference! Also, the instructions are incomplete. They should have said to leave 3/8" of the screw out to hand the coat rack. Instead, it said, "Then insert screws in to plugs leaving G" space." I guess in China G=3/8".

I suppose it would be unrealistic in these times to purchase a coat rack made of actual wood, the way it looks in the images. But the finish on this coat rack is particularly cheesy. It's some plasticky layer that scrapes off onto the wall and screws as you mount it. Below the finish is a low-grade particle board.

Having finally hung it, it looks nice enough. The hooks...
